Here's to the Little Stitchers
In the course of our conversation she told me that the Little Stitchers (my name for the hobbyists in the embroidery arena), are quite grateful to the professional (industrial/commercial) segment of the industry because there is quite a trickle-down effect. Designs, support, education—much of which is developed for the larger market—is available to the home sewers and makes their stitching easier and more efficient. They also enjoy going to the trade shows and seeing what is new and what it would take to move up to the world of professional embroidery.

Proving the entrepreneurial spirit is still alive and well, more than 12,500 professionals registered for National Business Media’s blockbuster three-in-one trade event at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, Long Beach, Calif., July 30-Aug. 1.
This premier exposition and education conference featured The Sign Business & Digital Graphics Show, The Printwear Show and The Awards and Engraving Show all together in 65,000 square feet of exhibit space. A total of 167 exhibiting companies from across all three industries were on handi to present the very latest products for signmaking, digital printing, apparel decorating, engraving and personalization.
