Charles River Apparel Circles in Hope, Partners in Health for Haiti

SHARON, Mass.—Charles River Apparel will partner with Circle of Hope to aid the Haiti relief efforts. Circle of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving people in need. It currently houses two individual philanthropic programs: The Greater Boston Community Exchange and the International Medical Team. Circle of Hope’s International Medical Team is preparing to send members to Haiti to provide medical support, and Charles River comes to its aid by allowing it to use the company’s warehouse space as a staging/storage area.

Industry Updates

LAS VEGAS—Superior Uniform Group Inc. announces that its customers Hilton Hotels and Ruby’s Restaurant Group took home winning trophies from this year’s National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) Image of the Year (IOY) award ceremony. The IOY awards, held March 6 in Las Vegas, recognize leaders in the corporate uniform and image apparel industry. This is Superior’s fourth straight year claiming an IOY win.

Scott E. Siegel, MAS, president of R.S. Owens & Company (Chicago) has been named chairman of the PPAI board. In addition to his board leadership responsibilities, Siegel works with fellow PPAI board of directors as well as PPAI committees, advisory councils and staff to fulfill the strategic goals of the association.

Study Confirms Promotional Products Deliver

IRVING, Texas—A late 2009 two-part study designed by PPAI and fielded through independent research company MarketTools Inc. evaluated a cross-section of the American consumer population about television, print, online and promotional-products advertising. The study surveyed more than 1,000 consumers who recalled receiving a promotional product in the past 24 months.
